Katy Post, MA, LCMHC, NCC, LCAS-A

Education: Ms. Post received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Child Development and Family Studies, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from West Virginia University.

Clinical Practice: Katy sees young adults, adults, and families.  She works clinically with individuals in post-acute alcohol and substance abuse recovery, as well as with the families and loved ones of people struggling with active addiction. Ms. Post also engages with individuals who are in transitions like divorce or separation, relocating, changing jobs or careers, or leaving home for the first time. Similarly, she is skilled in working with individuals who are struggling with depression and anxiety.

Katy recognizes that therapy is a relational, collaborative process.  She strives to build with the client a safe space in which to share thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.  This can be uncomfortable at first, but ultimately fosters genuine and lasting healing.

 Clinical Team Membership: Katy is a member of Presby Psych’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Recovery Support and Psychotherapy Team, LGBTQ Sensitive Counseling and Psychotherapy Team, and Trauma Recovery Counseling and Psychotherapy Team.

 Location:  Ms. Post’s office is at our Park Road/Myers Park office where she accepts Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance, Cigna, United Healthcare, and out-of-network benefits.
