Dorinell Alcantara is a recent MSW graduate of Winthrop University and is currently employed at Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center as a Child and Family Therapist. She has worked with children for over 10 years with a growing passion for helping and advocating for minority children and families, primarily in the LatinX community.
After completing her year-long internship with Presby Psych, Dorinell is a volunteer Junior Board Member. Her portfolio is to serve as a liaison between Presby Psych and Charlotte’s vibrant community of younger adults. In addition, Dorinell is a member of Presby Psych’s Development Committee and will assist in creating friend-raising and fundraising events that are attractive to this population. Honored to be a member of the Presby Psych Board, Dorinell will connect with these younger people who are already accepting of the value of mental health services.
In her spare time, Dorinell enjoys hiking, fishing, camping, and traveling with her partner and dog. Dorinell is also part of a national dance team advocating for women’s empowerment across the nation
