Ariana Mader, MA, LCMHC, NCC
Education: Ms. Mader earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at UNC Wilmington. She then received a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNC Charlotte where she was an honors student and Wellness Chair of UNCC’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society of counseling professionals and counselors in training, dedicated to excellence in scholarship, research, and clinical practice. As a couples counselor, Ariana is certified in Level 1 Gottman approach, a nationally respected model of couples therapy.
Clinical Practice: Ariana works clinically with adolescents, couples and families and welcomes to her practice members of the LGBTQ community. Ms. Mader believes in a collaborative approach to counseling and psychotherapy. She is skilled in DBT (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and trauma informed therapeutic interventions that combine relational psychotherapy with neurobiological understanding of trauma and its impact. These approaches respect the client’s unique experience, provide space for reflection and insight, and also explore new skills to shift patterns of suffering.
Clinical Team Membership: Ms. Mader holds membership on our Child, Adolescent, Parent and Family Team, LGBTQ Sensitive Counseling and Psychotherapy Team, and Trauma Recovery Counseling and Psychotherapy Team.
Location: Ariana is located at out Park Road/Myers Park office where she accepts Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna and out-of-network benefits.
